Certification requirements of the State of Delaware for Exceptional Children K-12 preferred. Successful completion of Praxis II exam. Teacher who is designated Highly Qualified in Middle Level ELA preferred. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Teach ELA to students. Able to work with students in a middle school level placement. Works cooperatively with all staff and parents. Plans a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate superior. Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior. Strives to implement by instruction and action the district's mission statement. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulation. With notice and consistent with employment commitments, is available to students and parents, within reason, for educational related purposes outside the instructional day.
