Speech Language Pathologist - Contract Location: Oregon, IL Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech Therapy or related field.
- Must have completed clinical fellowship (CF) experience, obtain state licensure, and earn certifications.
- Experience in evaluating and assessing student needs.
- Experience in developing and utilizing augmentative communication devices and techniques.
- Screen students for possible speech/language impairments upon initial entry to the school, and communicate the results to parents.
- Evaluate student needs using approved testing instruments, and complete speech/language case-study evaluations.
- As a member of the IEP, complete all necessary paperwork, monitor implementation, and collaborate with the team.
- Develop goals and objectives for individual students, and provide speech therapy in accordance with the provisions noted on the IEP.
- Plan curriculum and prepare lessons and other instructional materials according to the individual needs of students.
- Consult with other school personnel regarding an individual student's progress, concerns, and communication needs.
- Develop, utilize, and train appropriate staff in the use of augmentative communication devices and techniques as necessary for individual students.
- Instruct students in multi-modal forms of communication.
- Maintain cooperative working relationships with parents, staff, school district personnel, and community service agencies.
