Clinical Pharmacist Night Shift Contract Position
A healthcare facility in Long Beach, CA is seeking a dedicated Clinical Pharmacist to fill a critical night shift position on a contract basis. This role is essential due to an emergency situation involving Pyxis system challenges and requirements from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) mandating pharmacist coverage during night hours.
Schedule and Hours:
- Full-time, 4 nights per week
- 12-hour shifts totaling 48 hours per week
- Overtime paid after 8 hours each shift, offering a highly lucrative compensation structure
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical pharmacy services during the night shift to ensure medication safety and regulatory compliance
- Manage and oversee Pyxis medication dispensing systems, addressing any issues promptly
- Maintain adherence to CDPH standards and protocols
- Collaborate with healthcare staff to optimize inpatient medication therapy
- Ensure controlled substances are handled and documented correctly according to institutional and regulatory guidelines
Desired Experience and Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist with a valid state pharmacy license eligible for practice in California
- Minimum of basic inpatient pharmacy experience with familiarity in compliance practices
- Ability to respond effectively in a high-pressure, emergency environment

- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
