Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Oncology Duration: 12 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 Hours (08:00 - 16:30) Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Valid state license must be pending or candidate must be willing to participate in a licensure project Certifications: Required - BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Cerner charting experience Description: Position involves working in a medical oncology setting. The typical schedule is Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 16:30. No weekends or on-call duty required. Forty hours are guaranteed per week. Candidates with a minimum of 2 years of experience are preferred. First-time travelers are accepted. Certifications in chemotherapy (ONS/ONCC) and OCN are preferred. Candidates must live at least 50 miles away from the facility. Scrub color required is royal blue. Candidates should possess skills in the administration of chemotherapy and body fluid handling post-chemotherapy. Experience with continuous infusion of chemotherapy and isolation precautions/PPE is important. Monitoring patients receiving chemotherapy is a key responsibility. Knowledge of neutropenic precautions and oral administration of chemotherapy is expected. Patient and family education and support are essential components of this role. Post-surgical care and tracheostomy care/management may be required. Wound care experience is also beneficial. There may be opportunities for floating within the hospital or to nearby locations, depending on volume and census. Candidates need to complete up to 8 hours of modules prior to starting the assignment. Professional conduct is critical, and issues such as unprofessional behavior or call-offs may lead to immediate contract termination.
