Observational Research Manager - Cardiovascular

The Observational Research Manager will contribute to the generation of real-world evidence supporting clinical development, commercialization, safety, and strategic decision-making across the product lifecycle. This role focuses on observational research within the cardiovascular therapeutic area and involves collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and external scientific experts. You will manage studies using diverse real-world data sources, including medical claims, electronic health records, and prospective observational cohorts. Your work will help characterize disease burden, treatment patterns, healthcare utilization, and the safety and effectiveness of therapeutic interventions. The role combines scientific study design, epidemiology, applied biostatistics, project management, and scientific communication. You will also contribute to research publications, scientific congress abstracts, internal reports, and initiatives that increase awareness and adoption of observational research methods. Accountabilities:

• Manage descriptive epidemiologic studies examining the incidence, prevalence, distribution, and burden of cardiovascular diseases across the U.S., Europe, Asia, and emerging markets.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute observational research projects using multiple data sources, including medical claims, electronic medical records, registries, and prospective observational cohort studies.
• Provide safety research support throughout the product lifecycle, including contributions to risk management plans and pharmacovigilance studies.
• Apply sound observational research methodologies and appropriate analytical approaches to generate scientifically robust and decision-relevant evidence.
• Conduct literature reviews and synthesize scientific findings into research reports, manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, and other scientific deliverables.
• Contribute as a first or contributing author to peer-reviewed publications, scientific congress abstracts, and internal research reports that advance evidence generation objectives.
• Stay current with developments in observational research, epidemiology, cardiovascular science, and drug development, incorporating relevant advances into research activities.
• Promote awareness and understanding of observational research methodologies and their applications among internal and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Translate real-world evidence into clear scientific insights that can inform clinical strategy, drug development, and broader decision-making.
• Communicate complex scientific findings effectively to a variety of audiences, including multidisciplinary teams and scientific stakeholders.
• Collaborate across disciplines and contribute to a research environment that values scientific rigor, practical problem-solving, proactive thinking, and sound judgment.

Requirements:

• Doctorate degree, or a Master’s degree with at least 2 years of scientific experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of scientific experience, or an Associate’s degree with at least 8 years of scientific experience, or a high school diploma/GED with at least 10 years of scientific experience.
• Doctorate-level training in Epidemiology or another discipline with substantial observational research content is preferred.
• Experience working in cardiovascular disease research is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience designing, executing, and analyzing observational research studies within pharmaceutical, public health, or related scientific environments.
• Experience conducting research that supports drug development and understanding of evidence needs across the product lifecycle.
• Hands-on experience working with secondary data sources such as administrative claims, electronic medical records, and registries.
• Experience planning and managing observational research projects from study design through analysis and communication of findings.
• Strong understanding of study design and applied biostatistical methods relevant to observational research.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to present and translate scientific information for different audiences.
• Experience working effectively within multidisciplinary and cross-functional teams.
• Pragmatic, resourceful, proactive, and self-motivated approach, combined with strong scientific judgment and attention to research quality.
• Ability to interpret and translate real-world evidence into insights with meaningful clinical impact.
