Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify client needs and strengths, tailoring personalized treatment plans accordingly.
- Implement evidence-based interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused techniques aimed at promoting positive behavioral changes.
- Maintain meticulous and confidential clinical records in compliance with healthcare regulations and ethical standards.
- Engage in regular consultations with a dedicated treatment team, including educational specialists and mental health professionals, to craft comprehensive care strategies.
- Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families, empowering them with tools for managing mental health challenges.
- Stay informed about the latest developments in mental health care through ongoing research and training opportunities.
Patient Population / Client Focus
In this role, you will primarily serve a diverse population of youth facing various mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma histories, and behavioral issues. Your ability to establish rapport and trust with students will be vital in fostering a safe therapeutic environment that encourages open communication and engagement in their treatment process.
Qualifications
- A Master’s degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
- A valid LCSW license in the State of New York.
- A minimum of 3 years of clinical experience, particularly in psychotherapy and school-based social work.
- Expertise in solution-focused and trauma-informed care methodologies.
- Demonstrated excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- A collaborative spirit, thriving in a team environment where multidisciplinary approaches are paramount.
Preferred Experience
While not mandatory, candidates with experience in public school settings or with youth exhibiting complex behavioral challenges will find themselves at an advantage. Familiarity with telehealth practices and technology will also be beneficial in this role.
Compensation and Benefits
