Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab/EP RN for a Post Intervention Cath Unit requiring AL or Compact RN license and ACLS/BLS certification.

Details

• Post Intervention Cath Unit, serving as step-down overflow from the Cath Lab and MS unit
• 13-week assignment with night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Every other weekend required

Requirements

• Active AL State or Compact RN license required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA) required
• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required
• Community hospital experience required
• Teaching hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy and starting/maintaining IVs required
• Experience with accessing/managing ports, blood product administration, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management preferred
• Experience interpreting and managing dysrhythmias preferred
• Experience with pre/post cardiac catheterization and sheath removal required
• Experience with pacemakers, post cardiac angiogram, post MI, and pre/post cardiac surgery care preferred
• Experience with TR Band and heparin protocols preferred
• Experience managing cardiac and vasoactive drips (no titration) preferred
• Knowledge of isolation precautions/PPE and wound care/wound vac preferred

Additional Information

• Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and emergency response as part of unit responsibilities
• Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
• Candidates must reside within 60 miles for local consideration, with a lower rate applying to local candidates
• Requested time off limited to a maximum of 7 days
• Prior permanent employees of the facility are not eligible for travel assignments
• Candidates with a pending license may still be considered
