Chief Engineer

Chief Engineer – NCOur client, a geotechnical ground improvement solutions company, is looking for a Chief Engineer.The Chief Engineer serves as the company's highest-level and most senior technical advisor and expert, providing expert guidance, proactive mentorship, and strategic insight across all geotechnical engineering activities. Ideally based out of the Greater Charlotte, NC area but remote/hybrid is an option.Responsibilities:Provide Leadership Team level support and mentorship to engineering and technical leaders and resources across the organizationCollaborate with engineering teams to establish, oversee and refine engineering strategy, standards, and technical governanceServe as high level technical authority on complex geotechnical designs, methodologies, and construction approachesCollaborate with engineering teams to ensure consistency, quality, and compliance with engineering practices across all regions and projectsLead technical risk assessment and mitigation for complex or high-profile projectsSupport innovation, continuous improvement, and advancement of geotechnical systems, tools, and methodologiesEducation, qualifications and requirements:15+ years of experience in geotechnical engineering, geotechnical construction, or closely related engineering disciplines10+ years of leadership experience, including management of senior engineers, technical teams, or engineering functionsDeep technical expertise in ground improvement, foundation systems, and geotechnical design and construction practicesDemonstrated ability to lead engineering organizations through growth, complexity, and changeStrong judgment in technical decision-making and risk managementProfessional EngineerMaster's degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical EngineeringSuccess Characteristics:Strong people skills and ability to become a trusted business advisor with key decision-makers. Demonstrated ability to develop opportunities and specifications for a value-added product and system.Successful prioritization, coordination, and matrix management skills.
