Porter

Automation Personnel Services is seeking a Porter for a company based in Sugar Land, Texas.

Pay Rate
$16.50 an hour

Schedule and Hours
Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM

Porter Duties and Responsibilities

• Clean buildings by emptying trash, dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning surfaces as assigned.

• Properly use cleaning solutions and chemicals with proper PPE to remove stains and clean surfaces.

• Operate indoor floor scrubber machines when necessary.

• Clean parking lot areas, walkways, entryways, and hallways.

• Follow proper SOP for the removal of garbage, recycling, and production waste.

• Respond to other cleaning-related issues in a timely manner

• Water plants in the buildings according to the schedules.

• Clean MOVCD lab per instructions.

• Inspect and stock supplies (utensils, coffee, tea, dish soap, hand soap, paper towel, toilet paper, bottled water, etc.) in the break room, bathrooms, sanitation room, and other common areas.

• Detect and report defective materials or unsafe working conditions to the supervisor.

• Cross-train on other duties or areas as assigned by supervisor

Porter Qualifications and Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required

• 6 + months of porter experience is preferred

• Familiar with cleaning and sanitizing techniques

• Strong organizational and time-management skills

• Hearing and visual ability to observe and detect signs is required.

• Ability to stand and walk for 10+ hrs daily, stoop, bend, squat, kneel, push, pull and reach frequently, lift and carry loads up to 50 pounds and climb stairs.

• Subject to hazards. Includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, exposure to high heat, or exposure to chemicals.
