Regional Sales ManagerAn established and growing organization in Minnehaha County, SD is seeking an experienced Regional Sales Manager to lead a high-performing sales team across a large multi-state territory.This is not a individual-contributor sales position. The Regional Sales Manager will spend very little to no time directly selling. Instead, this role is responsible for leading the sales team, driving accountability, managing budgets and expenses, forecasting performance, and ensuring the overall profitability of the territory.The ideal candidate is a proven sales leader who understands both the people side and financial side of sales management and can effectively manage a geographically dispersed team.Responsibilities include:Lead, coach, develop, and manage a regional sales teamEstablish clear expectations and hold sales representatives accountable for activity, performance, and resultsMonitor and improve overall territory profitabilityManage and control operating and sales-related expensesDevelop quarterly sales and financial forecastsPrepare and manage monthly budgetsTrack team performance against sales goals, budgets, and projectionsIdentify performance gaps and implement corrective action when necessaryMaintain strong financial and operational discipline throughout the territoryProvide consistent leadership and direction to a geographically dispersed sales teamMaintain visibility throughout the region and ensure representatives are executing against company expectationsPartner with leadership to drive long-term growth and profitabilityPerform little to no direct selling, with the primary focus remaining on leadership and team performanceThe strongest candidates will bring proven experience leading sales professionals and managing the financial performance of a territory, region, or business unit.Ideal qualifications include:Proven experience managing and developing a sales teamStrong track record of holding sales representatives accountable to measurable goalsExperience managing a large geographic territoryStrong understanding of budgets, forecasting, expenses, margins, and profitabilityAbility to analyze sales and financial performance and identify areas requiring improvementStrong leadership, coaching, and performance-management skillsAbility to balance revenue growth with expense control and profitabilityComfortable working independently and managing teams across multiple locationsExperience within heavy-duty trucks, commercial vehicles, transportation equipment, heavy equipment, or a related industry is highly desirableThis is an opportunity for an experienced sales leader who wants to lead rather than personally carry a sales quota.
