Part-time Sales Associate

Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Sales Associate & Cashier to join our team at Doghouse Liquor. This position requires excellent communication skills, a passion for providing great customer service, and the ability to handle cashier duties efficiently. As a key member of our team, you will help customers with their purchases, manage transactions, and ensure a positive shopping experience. Key Responsibilities: Customer Service: Greet customers warmly, assist with product selection, answer inquiries about products, promotions, and store policies. Sales: Help customers find the perfect products based on their preferences and needs. Cashiering: Operate the cash register, process transactions accurately, and handle cash, credit card, and other payment types. Stocking & Inventory: Assist in stocking shelves, organizing displays, and ensuring the store is clean and visually appealing. Age Verification: Ensure compliance with legal age restrictions for alcohol sales and verify identification to prevent underage sales. Product Knowledge: Maintain a strong understanding of the store’s product offerings, including various types of spirits, wines, and beers, and offer recommendations to customers. Store Maintenance: Ensure the store is clean, well-organized, and fully stocked. Perform routine cleaning and minor maintenance tasks as needed. Team Collaboration: Work effectively with other staff members to ensure the smooth operation of the store. Problem Resolution: Address customer complaints or concerns professionally and work toward a resolution to maintain customer satisfaction. Compliance: Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws regarding alcohol sales and store operations. Qualifications: Experience: Previous retail or cashier experience preferred. Experience in the liquor or beverage industry is a plus. Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, basic math skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. KS Liquor Store Requirements: Must be at least 21 years old due to legal requirements for selling alcohol [Subsection (a)(2) of K.S.A. 41-713]. Cannot have been convicted of any felony [Subsection (a)(3) of K.S.A. 41-713]. Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for long periods, lift boxes (up to 50 lbs.), and perform other physical tasks as required. Shift Availability: We are seeking a candidate who can consistently workFriday evenings, Saturdays (shifts between 9am and 11pm) and Sundays (shifts between 12pm and 6pm).
