Program Coordinator II (NS) Agency: Department of Insurance – Industrial Commission Position Number: 65020585 | Grade: NC10 | Hybrid telework option available Description The North Carolina Department of Insurance, through its Industrial Commission, hires a Program Coordinator II (NS) to provide comprehensive administrative support to investigators in the Criminal Investigations and Employee Classification Division. The coordinator documents formal complaints received via mail, phone or email, synthesizes pertinent information, prepares case files, organizes evidence, and supports the Division Chief with statistical reporting and compliance. Responsibilities Document formal complaints received via U. S. Mail, phone, or email, and maintain accurate intake records. Research, collect, and analyze information from databases and public records to provide findings and recommendations. Analyze workers’ compensation insurance coverage information to determine potential violations of N.C. Gen. Stat. §§ 97‑93 and related statutes. Analyze data from the Employee Classification Application to assess possible misclassification of employees. Prepare case files, organize documentary evidence, and create trial exhibits. Utilize the Industrial Commission’s approved intake system for tracking and accessing cases. Upload and file documents associated with Criminal Investigations & Employee Classification Division cases, following all relevant procedures. Assist the Division Chief with compiling accurate statistical information and ensuring compliance with CJLEADS and the Criminal Justice Information System. Serve as the Division’s Certified Notary Public. Qualifications Knowledge of North Carolina criminal and civil statutes, including the Workers’ Compensation Act and the Employee Fair Classification Act. Understanding of Industrial Commission rules and procedures, the North Carolina criminal justice system and workers’ compensation insurance industry terms. Experience researching, collecting, and analyzing information from multiple sources. Experience reviewing information to determine accuracy or sufficiency. Experience interpreting statutes, rules, or policies and applying them to cases or situations. Education & Experience High school diploma (or GED) and two years of related administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Alternatively, bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and one year of relevant experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Special Qualifications Successful completion of a background investigation. Certification as a DCI Terminal Operator pursuant to 12 NCAC 04E .0402, with the Federal Bureau of Investigation Criminal Justice Information System and State Bureau of Investigation Division of Criminal Information.
