Department and Division PE-Process Control Maintenance Essential Duties & Responsibilities Perform all levels of maintenance for electronic, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical instrumentation. Conduct first‑line diagnostics, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of instrumentation equipment from major assembly to component level, including root‑cause failure analysis. Repair and maintain Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) and Operator Interface Terminals (OITs) using online and offline programming tools. Maintain PCS input/output field signals and bus networks; troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) communication to PCS and VFDs/valve actuators interfaces. Serve as system control and engineering technician liaison with staff, consultants, and contractors. Commission and integrate assets. Develop work plans for complex and strategic projects within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS); analyze labor and material estimates for PMs and CMs. Maintain Loop Drawings and Point‑to‑Point wiring diagrams on SharePoint. Use CMMS for work planning, requisitions, execution, and analysis. Conduct tailgate training sessions. Comply with all applicable safety rules and regulations. Operate and maintain Authority vehicles as required; report deficiencies. Perform other related duties and projects as assigned. Required Skills & Qualifications Required Experience: General knowledge of computer‑based systems and networks, industrial electronics, process monitoring, and control instrumentation. Minimum Education Requirements: High School diploma or GED; seven (7) years of experience related to water/wastewater or industrial maintenance, including four (4) years of progressive experience in instrumentation/measurement. Required Skills: Read and interpret electrical drawings, Piping & Instruments Diagrams (P&ID), PLC ladder logic, and PCS control logic. Use electric/electronic test equipment (e.g., Hart calibrator, Fieldbus tools) to diagnose and correct equipment and process control system problems. Required Licenses & Certifications: Certified Control Systems Technician (CCST) II or equivalent, to be obtained within nine (9) months of hire. Confined space entry certification, to be obtained within nine (9) months of hire. Valid Motor Vehicle Operating License. Required Languages: English. Physical Requirements: Pass fit test for respirator use. Perform moderate physical activities (lifting up to 50 lbs., climbing ladders, balancing, bending, crawling, standing or walking for long periods). Work indoors and/or outdoors, in various weather conditions and confined spaces. Preferred Skills & Qualifications Preferred Education Requirements: Technical school diploma or associate’s degree in a related technology area; four (4) years of related experience with water/wastewater or industrial maintenance, including two (2) years of progressive instrumentation/measurement experience.
