A&P Mechanic

This role works as part of a dedicated hangar team of maintenance technicians and quality inspectors, supporting planned aircraft maintenance projects at a Falcon Jet service center. The A&P Mechanic troubleshoots and maintains mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems on all models of Falcon corporate aircraft, ensuring safe, reliable operation and a high standard of technical excellence.

Responsibilities

• Perform required maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on Falcon Jet aircraft across mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems.
• Complete all maintenance tasks, checks, inspections, and troubleshooting activities as specified in the customer work scope.
• Apply a high level of technical knowledge and experience to all work while maintaining professional, courteous interactions with customers, vendors, and flight department personnel.
• Follow all applicable FAA regulations, repair station manuals, operations manuals, and quality manuals and regulations.
• Accurately document all work performed, ensuring all forms and records are completed, signed off correctly, and submitted in a timely manner in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as needed based on customer activity, including weekends, evenings, and holidays, with advance notice provided when possible.
• Be available to work day, afternoon, evening, or weekend shifts as required to meet business needs.
• Handle a forecasted scope of work that may include troubleshooting, parts replacement, work order documentation, interpretation of technical documentation, and customer service and communication.
• Use computer systems and software to access technical data, complete documentation, and support maintenance activities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned to support the hangar team and maintenance operations.

Essential Skills

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on aircraft maintenance experience, or at least 7 years of military aircraft maintenance experience without an A&P license.
• Active A&P license, or equivalent extensive military aircraft maintenance experience as described.
• Proven experience with aircraft maintenance on rotary or fixed-wing aircraft.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic aircraft systems.
• Ability to interpret and apply technical documentation, maintenance manuals, and work scopes.
• Proficiency with computer skills to support documentation, technical research, and communication.
• Demonstrated ability to follow FAA regulations and repair station, operations, and quality manuals.
• Strong attention to detail with accurate and timely completion of maintenance records and documentation.
• Professional communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and flight department personnel.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts and overtime, including weekends, evenings, and holidays.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Falcon Jet or corporate aircraft maintenance experience is highly preferred.
• Experience working in an aircraft hangar environment.
• Ownership of standard personal tools; specialty tooling is provided.
• Customer service orientation and ability to represent the OEM professionally.
• Comfort working within a team of maintenance technicians and quality inspectors.
• Ability to adapt to changing work scopes and priorities in a busy service environment.

Work Environment

The role is based in an aircraft hangar at a major service provider for Falcon aircraft, working closely with maintenance technicians and quality inspectors in a collaborative team setting. The environment is hands-on, with direct access to corporate aircraft and specialized tooling provided for complex tasks, while technicians bring their own standard tools. Work is performed around active maintenance operations, requiring adherence to safety protocols, FAA regulations, and repair station procedures. The schedule may include day, afternoon, evening, and weekend shifts, as well as occasional overtime during periods of high customer demand. Computer systems and digital technical documentation are used routinely to support maintenance and recordkeeping. The hangar environment is dynamic and fast-paced, focused on high-quality service, technical precision, and safe aircraft operation.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Reno, NV.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
