As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Screening Verifier in Tampa, FL , this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking‑up additional shifts when it works for you. Pay Rate: $17.75 / Hour Job Schedule: DayTimeThur 05:00 AM - 01:15 PM How This Role Works: Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment. Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick‑up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time hours this week and full‑time the next. It’s all up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part‑time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build‑up to a full‑time schedule of up to 40 hours per week; always with the option to scale back when needed. Responsibilities Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site‑specific screening procedures, access protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities. Screen individuals entering the location by verifying identification, confirming authorization, and following healthcare location procedures for visitor entry, restricted areas, and/or delivery access. Respond to incidents, concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, documenting observations and reporting unusual activity according to site policies. Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, remaining aware of changing conditions and helping to support a professional, courteous environment. Assist with directing foot traffic, answering general questions, and communicating clearly with staff and/or visitors regarding screening expectations, entry requirements, and security‑related procedures. Minimum Requirements A guard card or license is preferred. Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles. Possess a high school diploma or equivalent. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws. As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law. Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment. A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
