We are looking for an outstanding Store Manager to join our BAPE store at South Coast Plaza.

BAPE is a leading premium streetwear brand that offers iconic designs and original patterns such as "BAPE® CAMO", "BAPE STA™", "SHARK HOODIE", and "BABY MILO®". In its global expansion, BAPE now has a presence worldwide in the US, UK, China, and various Asian countries. Best known for its unique collaborations, it is highly supported by a wide range of fashionistas.

As a member of the BAPE retail team, you will serve as an ambassador of the BAPE brand and help us keep our commitment to providing exceptional customer service and brand experience at our retail stores.

The Store Manager's primary responsibility is to lead and direct store team members and achieve company goals. This person will ensure optimal staffing levels through recruitment, education, and motivation for the BAPE team, who in turn will impact the store's performance. They will ultimately be setting the example for quality customer service and engagement. The Store Manager will be expected to execute company strategies by maximizing the store's profitability. They will control store expenses, protect company assets, and manage overall store standards and processes for customer service excellence, merchandise & inventory, retail operations, and ensure team participation is consistent and well managed.

 

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the team, providing individual and group coaching, organizing and leading staff meetings, briefings, performance reviews, and ensuring that all company policies and procedures are being followed.
• Store sales management: achieve store sales targets, maximize store sales and profitability.
• Monitor and maintain customer service excellence and ensure staff is providing a quality shopping experience in-store.
• Coach and mentor team in all areas of customer service and engagement, ensuring product and brand history knowledge is up to date and accurate.
• Responsible for recruiting team, attracting talent, maintaining succession plan, and developing a high-performing team.
• Partner with US Retail Manager and HR to set performance goals for team to encourage personal development, addressing performance issues, facilitating disciplinary actions, and terminating employees when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with employee record-keeping policies and procedures for any HR/Payroll requirements according to company standards and policies.
• Responsible for achieving all financial and operational objectives including expense control, loss prevention, store inventory audits, and reporting to senior management as required.
• Support in the organization of in-store marketing events and proactively grow professional relationships to increase brand awareness and drive traffic.

• Coordinate with merchandising team and manage stock levels to ensure product availability and minimize shrinkage.

• Ensure visual merchandising standards are met in accordance with instructions from the VM team at Headquarters, and direct and implement merchandising allocation, assortment, and replenishment.
• Model professional behavior as an example to the team whilst promoting a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and creativity.

Personal qualities & qualifications

• Extensive experience in fashion retail with a minimum of 3 years’ experience at a Store Manager level
• Experience in a specialty retail environment is preferred.
• Proven ability to analyze sales data and implement strategic initiatives, meet and exceed sales and profit results, with strong business acumen.
• Proven ability to meet business goals through driving results in store.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills and able to display good leadership qualities, enthusiasm to recruit, train, motivate, and drive a team.
• Highly detail-oriented and excellent organizational skills
• Proficiency with retail management software and point-of-sale (POS) systems as well as in Microsoft Office Applications, good mathematical literacy
• Ability to prioritize workload efficiently and able to work on a flexible schedule.
