Baker PositionHiring for our brand new Kensington location! As a Baker at Essen Bakery, you will be an integral part of our bakery operations, responsible for crafting a variety of baked goods that bring joy to our customers' lives. Your expertise in baking techniques, attention to detail, and high efficiency will contribute to the continued success of our bakery.Looking for early birds! This is a full time position and includes shifts for the early morning bake-off as well as production shifts, daily start times will vary between 4am- 6am.Responsibilities:Prepare and bake a diverse range of baked goods, including breads, pastries, cakes, and cookies, following established recipes and techniques.Ensure the quality, taste, and appearance of all baked products meet our high standards.Assist in developing and testing new recipes and variations to keep our offerings fresh and exciting.Maintain a clean and organized workspace, following strict food safety and sanitation guidelines.Monitor inventory levels of baking ingredients and supplies, and communicate with the management team for timely replenishment.Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth bakery operations, from preparation to baking to packaging.Qualifications:Proven experience as a Baker/Pastry Cook in a bakery, pastry shop, restaurant or similar setting.Strong understanding of baking techniques, ingredient functions, and recipe scaling in the preparation of yeasted breads and pastries, as well as chemically leavened cakes and cookies.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team.Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends and holidays (except Christmas and Thanksgiving)Benefits:Competitive compensation, starting wage based on baking experience.Free primary healthcare benefits including mental healthcare services.Closed Christmas and Thanksgiving.Positive and friendly work environment that values teamwork, organization and excellence.Wage commensurate on baking experience.If you have a passion for baking and the skills to create mouthwatering baked goods, we invite you to join our team at Essen Bakery.
