We're seeking to hire a Senior Mechanical Engineer to support our design team in Philadelphia, PA. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer within Jacobs, you will play a crucial role in our Cities and Places team. You'll impact the world around you by solving real-life challenges, designing buildings and spaces in the Higher Education, Life Sciences, and Corporate Commercial sectors helping clients capitalize on emerging trends in built environments.

What you'll do:

• Lead mechanical engineering aspects of complex design projects, both new and renovations of existing buildings, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and client specifications
• Collaborate with full-service teams of architects, engineers and clients to develop innovative solutions
• Perform detailed engineering calculations and analyses to support design decisions
• Create and review technical documentation, including drawings, specifications, and reports
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Interact with clients to understand requirements and present engineering solutions
• Conduct site assessments and field investigations as needed
• Support project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning
• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices
• Represent Jacobs in person and on site with new and potential clients within local markets
• Support proposal development, client relationship management, and strategic pursuits within the Philadelphia and Mid-Atlantic markets.

Here's what you'll need:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
• Professional Engineer (PE) registration required; Pennsylvania registration preferred or ability to obtain through reciprocity
• 10+ years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role focused on building systems design
• Demonstrated expertise across our market sectors (Higher Education, Science & Research, Corporate Commercial)
• Proficiency with engineering design software and tools (AutoCAD, Revit, Trane Trace 3D Plus, Selection Software, etc.)
• Strong understanding of industry codes and standards (ASME, ASHRAE, etc.)
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
• Strong project management capabilities including outstanding communication and interpersonal skills

Ideally, you'll also have:

• Business ties and network connections to the Philadelphia community
• Ability to travel for work in the region and to collaborate with other Jacobs offices
• Engagement in professional networks
• Experience in the design of Mission Critical facilities

The base salary range for this position is $145,000.00 to $195,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
