Machinist 2nd Shift

Position Machinists are responsible for machining and fabricating structural metal products.

Responsibilities:

• Read blueprints, sketches, and computer-aided design (CAD) and computer aided manufacturing (CAM) files.
• Take precise measurements for cutting or shaping. Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task.
• Use of machines like lathes and milling machines.
• Inspect finished parts for quality and accuracy.
• Present finished workpieces for Quality Dept Inspections and make modifications as needed.
• Set up and operate CNC mills, CNC lathes, manual mills and manual lathes.
• Follow job related materials, work instructions and set up sheets.
• Design and construct templates and fixtures upon receiving approval from supervisor.
• Operate an overhead crane and forklift.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work from established layout and follows sequence of operations.
• Able to enter information into established computer system, production records, logs, time clock, and other forms.
• Can verify conformance of work piece to specifications. Ability to use and read tape measures, dial calipers, micrometers and bore micrometers.
• Read and interpret manufacturing blueprints.
