Job Summary:
The Labor and Delivery Post Partum (L&D PP) registered nurse position is based in a healthcare facility, providing specialized care for maternal and newborn patients. The role involves managing postpartum patients, supporting maternal and newborn teaching, and performing specialized clinical procedures in a dedicated unit. Shift scheduled for nights, with an emphasis on high-quality patient care and safety.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per day, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications:
  • One (1) year of recent (within the last three years) full-time equivalent experience in labor and delivery or postpartum nursing.
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state where care is provided.
  • Basic Life Support certification.
  • Advanced Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform electronic fetal monitoring, IV skills, and lab draws.
  • Knowledge of high-risk medication administration (Magnesium, Oxytocin, Insulin).
  • Ability to perform Urine Point of Care testing and capillary blood glucose testing.
  • Knowledge of neonatal monitors including pulse oximetry and cardiac monitoring.
  • Experience performing heel sticks and venipuncture on newborns.
  • Knowledge of newborn medications, IV administration, and maintenance.
  • Familiarity with Bili-blankets/lights, radiant warmers, and supportive maternal-newborn teaching.
• Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of labor and delivery experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of postpartum nursing experience.
  • At least one (1) year of medical/surgical nursing experience.
