Our full-service company is comprised of planning, architecture, design, construction, marketing, and resident experience professionalsall in-house and working together every day to envision and create uniquely beautiful places.

Westhaven Golf Club has full-time Backwait positions available. Flexible schedules are offered.

The Backwait provides exceptional service in the dining room and other Food & Beverage outlets of the Club through the delivery of food and clearing of completed plates and glasses, and bussing tables.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Assures that all material used by server is clean and ready for daily operation.
  • Possesses knowledge of the position of each diner's chair in the dining rooms and lounges.
  • Sets the outside line with under liner plates, flatware, doilies, linen napkins and any other items needed for the delivering of food.
  • Sets tables in accordance with Troon Golf standards.
  • Ensures that each menu item is prepared in the exact detail outlined on each ticket.
  • Fills and re-fills water glasses and removes any place settings not being used.
  • Delivers food from expo to table.
  • Clears dishes located in front of guest upon completion of course.
  • Clears and resets tables when guests leave, to include but not limited to: changes tablecloth, brushes chairs, places chairs at table, replaces silverware and glassware, and replaces napkins.
  • Assists the server when needed.
  • Keeps work stations and closets well stocked of items and ingredients.
  • Cleans workstations and closets, takes out trash, and vacuums the dining room.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
  • Performs other duties as required.

  • Commitment to excellence and a desire to provide membership with an exceptional dining experience.
  • Team player attitude and ability to foster professional relationships with golf club members, employees and guests.
  • Must work well with Food & Beverage team to deliver a seamless service.
  • Ability to partner with various functions and team members to bring initiatives to life.

Qualifications include:

  • Two years of experience of restaurant work preferred, but not required.
  • High level of cleanliness, organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Team player able to foster professional relationships with members, employees and guests.
  • Great work ethic with a passion for exceeding member expectations and a commitment to excellence resulting in high quality member and guest service.
