As part of the Small Luxury Hotels collection, our property offers guests an intimate, design-forward experience in the heart of Asheville. We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Room Attendant to help create exceptional guest experiences through cleanliness, comfort, and thoughtful presentation.

Position Summary

The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, public areas, and assigned spaces to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. This position plays a critical role in delivering the exceptional guest experience that defines Zelda Dearest.
Essential Responsibilities

• Clean and service guest rooms to hotel standards.
• Change bed linens, make beds, and replenish amenities.
• Clean bathrooms, dust furniture, vacuum floors, and remove trash.
• Inspect rooms for maintenance issues and report concerns promptly.
• Maintain housekeeping carts, storage areas, and supplies.
• Ensure all rooms meet brand and quality standards before guest arrival.
• Assist with public area cleaning as needed.
• Provide friendly and courteous interactions with guests.
• Follow all safety, sanitation, and hotel procedures.

Qualifications

• Previous housekeeping or hotel experience preferred but not required.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand, bend, lift, and move throughout an entire shift.
• Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Weekend and holiday availability required.
• Positive attitude and a commitment to exceptional hospitality.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Bend and reach to dust, clean and make beds and bathroom
• Stand and walk for varying lengths of time, often long periods.
• Talk to many different kinds of people to give information, answer questions and provide required services.
• Visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and guest belongings that have been left behind.
• Use written communication skills to mark completed rooms on daily paperwork.
• Move fingers, arms and hands quickly and easily to perform cleaning duties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Lifting fifty (50) pounds maximum.
• Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing and smiling.
