Interventional Radiologist

This is an open continuous announcement and will remain open until September 30, 2026 or until positions are filled. First cutoff will be May 20, 2026 and after that date eligible applications received will be referred at regular intervals or as additional vacancies occur.

The incumbent is assigned as an Interventional Radiologist to the Imaging Service and reports to the Interventional Radiologist Section Chief. Clinical duties include all aspects of the Imaging Services throughout the STVHCS. The radiologist must demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide interventional services including:

• Sufficient computer skills needed to work with advanced PACs and voice recognition systems.
• Timely interpretation and communication of the imaging results (including entry into digital medical record and verbal notification of critical findings).
• Providing consultation services, comparative reports and participating in clinical conferences/committees as requested by referring physicians.
• Overall safety of imaging patients, including oversight of contrast administration and response to adverse patient reactions. Safety also includes reviewing requests and ensuring the appropriate imaging protocols, preparations and medications have been ordered.

Educational duties include assisting, training, supervising and mentoring radiology residents in the performance of procedures and interpreting studies. The radiologist will be required to provide education and training to members of the medical staff through various conferences, committees and lecture series.

Administrative duties may include participation in clinical, educational and administrative committees, task groups or special projects. The radiologist will participate in quality control/quality management (including department and hospital review level peer reviews).

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases.

Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME).

Retirement: Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA.

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory.

CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification).

Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 - 4:30pm; may change based on the needs of the service.
