Job Title: Obstetrics RN Profession: Nursing Specialty: Obstetrics Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day OB RN Hours per Shift: Guaranteed hours not specified Experience: Minimum 2 years of acute care experience as an RN License: Current RN license required Certifications: Current BLS, ACLS, Neonatal Resuscitation Certificate, STABLE Must-Have: - Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing - Effective communication skills, both written and oral - Computer skills - Must be vaccinated for COVID-19 per state mandate Description: Independently provides holistic, individualized care using the nursing process for patients routinely seen on the OB unit. Demonstrates clinical competency, nursing judgment, teaching skills, and a commitment to improving the quality of patient care. Independently performs general and unit-specific clinical skills. Performs the functions of an RN in assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating all assigned patient care under the supervision of the charge nurse. Responsible for adhering to all Standards of Nursing Practice. Implements and evaluates age-appropriate care for all patients in the department, including antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, nursery, and post-op gynecology patients. Manages supplies and equipment effectively. Promotes teamwork with physicians and personnel of the unit and other hospital departments. Adheres to policies regarding confidentiality, sexual harassment, advance directives, and ADA. Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and supports the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
