Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced ER RN with 2+ years of emergency department experience and required Epic charting proficiency for a 13-week travel assignment.

Details

• Work in the Emergency Department of a Level II Trauma Center serving a combined adult/pediatric patient population
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Uses Epic charting system
• Variable 3x12-hour shifts, primarily nights but may switch to days during the assignment
• Candidates must be willing to float as needed within the health system

Requirements

• Active OR RN license required
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC
• Preferred certifications: CPI, ENPC, MAB, NRP, OCN, and SANE
• Minimum 2 years of ER nursing experience required
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in triage, cardiac monitoring, EKG/ECG interpretation, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience managing trauma, shock, gunshot wounds, and multisystem organ dysfunction
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of emergency medications and vasopressors
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, ventilated patients, and ABG interpretation
• Experience managing psychiatric and behavioral health patients, including violent behavior and suicidal patients
• Experience with pediatric emergency conditions including asthma, seizures, and head injury
• Two professional references from the past 2 years required, with at least one from a supervisor

Additional Information

• Deliver emergency care across a broad range of adult and pediatric conditions including trauma, cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and psychiatric emergencies
• Facility is a Level II Trauma Center, STEMI Certified, and Stroke Certified
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
• Local candidates are not accepted; candidates must live outside a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Previous PeaceHealth employees must have been separated from the health system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Candidates with more than one DUI are not eligible for consideration
• RTO must be disclosed and approved prior to contract signing, with no additional RTO approved after signing
• Some holiday RTO may be approved depending on unit needs
• Candidates without an active Washington state license in hand may experience a start date delay of up to 8 weeks while licensure is processed
