Certified Medical Assistant Full Time position at SCA Naval Health Clinic Cherry Point, Havelock, NC, US Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA or AMT) NH Clinic Cherry Point, NC Position Duties and Responsibilities Prepare pre-operative area and PACU for patient receiving. Document PACU vital signs and applicable interventions in the patient’s electronic record. Upload paper-based patient documentation into the patient’s electronic record at discharge or end of day as appropriate. Perform pre-operative patient interventions per surgeon orders within the scope of practice. Communicate pre-operative assessment concerns to nursing, anesthesia and surgeon as appropriate. Communicate with patients for surgery related calls per MTF protocol. Assist with completion of end of day close out tasks in the APU and PACU. Minimum Qualifications Graduate from a medical assistant training program accredited by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) of the American Medical Technologists or a formal medical services training program of the United States Armed Forces. Current certification as a medical assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or current registration by the American Medical Technologists (AMT). One year of experience as a Medical Assistant after graduation. Must be a US Citizen.
