Role Description The Practice Manager/Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in West Palm Beach, FL, responsible for overseeing day-to-day administrative and operational activities of the neurosurgery practice. This role manages front office workflows, patient scheduling, registration, and check-out processes to ensure efficient and courteous service. The position involves supervising non-clinical staff, coordinating work schedules, monitoring performance, and supporting training and development. The Practice Manager/Assistant Manager helps manage revenue cycle functions such as insurance verification, prior authorizations, billing follow-up, and collections in collaboration with billing teams. Additional responsibilities include maintaining practice policies and procedures, overseeing compliance with healthcare regulations, monitoring key performance indicators, managing vendor relationships, and assisting with budgeting and expense control. The role works closely with physicians and clinical leaders to support strategic initiatives, improve patient experience, and streamline practice operations. Qualifications Experience in medical practice management or healthcare administration, with skills in staff supervision, workflow optimization, and daily operations oversight. Knowledge of patient scheduling, registration, and front office processes, including managing appointment templates and coordinating referrals. Familiarity with medical billing and revenue cycle activities such as insurance verification, prior authorization, claims follow-up, and collections. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management systems, as well as basic office software (e.g., MS Office). Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Effective interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, physicians, and external partners in a professional manner. Commitment to patient confidentiality, regulatory compliance (e.g., HIPAA), and adherence to healthcare quality standards. Prior experience in a surgical or specialty practice, particularly neurosurgery or related fields, is preferred. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
