Technical Civil / Structural Engineer

Clayton Services is searching for a Technical Civil / Structural Engineer to join a growing engineering consulting organization in Houston, Texas. The Technical Civil / Structural Engineer will be responsible for supporting the design and execution of infrastructure, industrial, and commercial projects, performing structural analysis, developing engineering documentation, and providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.

Job Type: Direct Hire

Pay Rate: $120,000 - $160,000 plus bonus

Technical Civil / Structural Engineer Responsibilities:

• Develop structural designs, calculations, specifications, and engineering documentation for a variety of infrastructure and industrial projects
• Perform structural analysis and design of steel, concrete, masonry, and timber structures
• Design foundations and support systems while evaluating structural loads, environmental conditions, and site-specific requirements
• Prepare project plans, technical reports, cost estimates, and supporting engineering documentation
• Review engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards
• Coordinate project deliverables with engineers, designers, drafters, and other project stakeholders
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and progress tracking to ensure successful project execution
• Provide technical support during construction, including reviewing submittals, responding to requests for information, and performing site observations
• Participate in site assessments, inspections, and evaluations of existing structures
• Utilize AutoCAD and other engineering software to support design and documentation efforts
• Support quality assurance and quality control initiatives throughout the design process
• Assist with proposal development, technical studies, and engineering reports as needed

Technical Civil / Structural Engineer Skills and Abilities:

• Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles and design methodologies
• Experience performing structural analysis and preparing engineering calculations
• Working knowledge of applicable building codes, engineering standards, and industry regulations
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and structural engineering software
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to delivering high-quality work

Technical Civil / Structural Engineer Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required
• Minimum 4 years of civil and structural engineering experience required
• Experience supporting infrastructure, industrial, commercial, transportation, or site development projects preferred
• Experience performing structural design, construction support, and engineering documentation required
