JOURNEYMAN ELECTRICIAN

Kirk Star Electrical, LLC is a fully licensed and insured electrical contractor based in Pasadena, California, serving residential, commercial, and industrial clients throughout Los Angeles County, the San Gabriel Valley, and parts of San Bernardino County since 2009. We hold a CSLB license (#1129104), maintain BBB A+ accreditation, and are EVITP certified for electric vehicle charger installations.

We are a growing operation with an expanding commercial portfolio. Our work spans residential panel upgrades and EV charger installations to large-scale commercial installs and remodels — office buildings, warehouses, retail spaces, and multi-unit properties. Projects in our pipeline now regularly reach into the six- and seven-figure range, and we are building the team to match that growth.

Our standard is simple: thorough pre-work consultation, code-compliant execution, and a one-year warranty on all work and materials. We do not cut corners, and we do not leave until the job is done right.

This is not a position for someone who wants to blend into a large crew and run the same circuit pull week after week. This is a role for a skilled, career-minded Journeyman Electrician who wants variety, ownership over their work, and a direct hand in building something that is actively growing.

You will work alongside the owner on a wide range of projects — from residential panel upgrades and EV charger installations to commercial installs and full building remodels valued between $25,000 and $1,000,000. You will be trusted with real responsibility from day one. On smaller projects, you will lead the work. On larger commercial jobs, you will be a key player on a focused, high-performing team.

There are no emergency calls. No on-call shifts. No 2 a.m. service dispatches. Every project is planned, scoped, and scheduled in advance — so you can do your best work without the unpredictability that burns out talented electricians at other shops.

• Execute residential and commercial electrical panel upgrades across a wide range of brands, service sizes, and building types

• Perform commercial electrical installs and remodels, including full buildouts, tenant improvements, and system upgrades for office, warehouse, retail, and mixed-use properties

• Install EV charging infrastructure for residential garages and commercial properties, including multi-unit and fleet charging configurations, in accordance with EVITP and manufacturer standards

• Execute commercial lighting retrofits, including energy-efficient LED upgrades for office buildings and warehouse facilities

• Diagnose and repair wiring issues, outlets, switches, breakers, and light fixtures across residential and commercial settings

• Perform pre-sale and post-sale electrical inspections for real estate transactions

• Identify and correct code violations; bring existing systems into compliance with California State Licensing Board standards

• Communicate professionally and clearly with clients, property managers, and project stakeholders throughout each job

• Deliver projects on schedule — most major residential jobs are completed within one to two business days; commercial projects are planned and executed to agreed timelines

• Valid California Journeyman Electrician license — required; non-negotiable

• Minimum of 3 years of field experience performing electrical installations and service

• Demonstrated experience across both residential and commercial settings

• Working knowledge of California electrical codes and NEC standards

• Ability to read and interpret electrical plans, construction documents, and project specifications

• Strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to quality workmanship

• Professional communication skills; ability to interact confidently and respectfully with clients, building managers, and general contractors

• Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying environmental conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• EVITP certification or direct experience with EV charger installation across multiple brands

• Commercial construction and remodel experience, including tenant improvements, warehouse installs, and multi-unit buildouts

• Experience managing or leading on commercial project sites

• Familiarity with Siemens electrical components

• Experience with code compliance corrections and pre/post-sale inspections for real estate
