Registered Nurse (RN) Job Responsibilities: Provides safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care in a patient- and family-centered manner. Performs thorough patient assessments, interprets data, and identifies care priorities. Develops and implements individualized plans of care to achieve optimal patient outcomes. Evaluates patient progress, anticipates changes, and adjusts care plans accordingly. Coordinates care and discharge planning with the healthcare team and community resources. Advocates for patients' rights and ensures their needs and preferences are respected. Maintains accurate and timely documentation in compliance with standards. Collaborates and communicates effectively with physicians, nurses, and other disciplines. Serves as a clinical resource, mentor, and preceptor to peers and new staff. Engages in professional growth, continuing education, and quality improvement initiatives. Registered Nurse (RN) Additional Requirements: Work schedule: Full-time, night shift with 3 x 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00pm to 7:00am | 16 hours of on call in 6-week period, must be able to arrive within 1 hour |1 summer and 1 winter holiday | 5 weekend shifts in a 6-week period Education: BSN from an accredited school of nursing. If RN has an Associate's Degree (ADN); must complete BSN within 5 years of start date. Experience : Required 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse, for Critical Care units, 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowship. Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start | For Critical Care Units: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Within 6 Months | For Pediatric Units: Pediatric Advanced Life Support- Within 6 Months | For Infusion Center Units: Obtain chemo card- within 3 months of hire Licensure: Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse license Registered Nurse (RN) Preferred Qualifications : Two years of recent Registered Nurse (RN) inpatient experience on a Labor and Delivery Unit Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) About Us: We are Inova, Northern Virginia's leading nonprofit healthcare provider.
