About the Position

License: Must have an active Illinois license to apply. Certifications: BLS and NIH required; ACLS preferred. Must-Have: - Telemetry experience. - Neuro Stepdown experience. - PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience. - Post Cardiac Angiogram experience. - Pre/Post Hemodialysis Management experience. - Accessing Ports experience. - Management of dysrhythmias experience. - Interpretation of dysrhythmias experience. - Care of ventilated patients experience. Description: The position requires a Registered Nurse for an Intermediate Care/Stepdown/PCU unit. Shifts will encompass 3x12 or 4x12 days from 06:45 to 19:15. The clinician will be expected to work every other weekend. Candidates must float as needed within the facility. The unit handles a variety of diagnoses, serving as the only dedicated IMC unit. The average patient ratio is 1:4 with the possibility of charge nurse duties. Candidates should possess solid knowledge of cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Experience with ventricular management and various nursing protocols is essential. Nurses must demonstrate the ability to perform IV therapy and manage multiple types of lines. Experience in neurological and psychiatric cases such as CVA, craniotomy, and spinal cord injury is required. Additional skills required include isolation precautions, wound care, and basic respiratory care. Candidates should have the ability to manage and monitor high-acuity patients effectively. Cerner charting experience is preferred, along with a background in a fast-paced hospital environment. This role includes working as part of an interdisciplinary team. The clinician must comply with facility policies and work within a dynamic patient care framework.
