RN - PCU

Registered Nurse - IMC/Tele

This position involves working in a stepdown unit focused on cardiac medical and surgical patients. Common diagnoses include post-cath lab interventions, post-cardiac surgeries, arrhythmias, CHF, and more. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 on days and 1:5-6 on nights. There is a centralized telemetry unit that monitors all non-critical care patients. Charge nurses take a modified patient assignment. There are nurse aides available to assist on the unit. Respiratory therapy is available 24/7 for support with treatments. RNs are responsible for incentive spirometry and other patient care functions. Shifts will be scheduled with every other weekend and holiday requirements. All clinicians must clock in and out during their shifts. The charting system used is Cerner.
