Surgery RN - PRN

Job Description

Windom Area Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Surgery Department on a PRN basis. This role supports perioperative patient care and departmental efficiency through high-quality clinical practice and collaboration with the surgical team. Initial training will focus on admission and discharge processes, with opportunities to expand into additional perioperative areas based on experience.

Location: Windom, MN

Pay range: $38.55 - $54.70/hr *rates offered will reflect applicable experience

Schedule: PRN based on departmental needs

Key Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality nursing care across the surgical continuum, including pre- and post-operative phases
• Complete admission and discharge processes, including patient education and documentation
• Assess patient needs and contribute to the development and implementation of care plans
• Ensure all required documentation and physician orders are accurate and up to date
• Assist with coordination of surgical cases and patient flow

Qualifications

Required:

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Minnesota
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Strong communication, organization, and critical thinking skills

Preferred:

• Previous experience in surgical services or perioperative nursing
• Experience with admission/discharge workflows
• Familiarity with electronic medical record systems
