Position Summary

The Accounting Specialist is responsible for supporting the financial operations of the dealership by balancing cash draws, posting customer and fleet account payments, maintaining accurate accounting records, and ensuring timely reconciliation of financial transactions. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced automotive environment.

What You Bring

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or accounts receivable experience required.
• Automotive dealership accounting experience preferred but not required.
• Experience with dealership management systems (CDK, Reynolds & Reynolds, Dealertrack, or similar) is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to reconcile accounts and identify discrepancies.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Compensation & Perks

• $18-$20 per hour based on experience

What You’ll Do

Cash Management & Reconciliation

• Balance daily cash draws and verify cash, checks, and electronic payments against system records.
• Investigate and resolve cash discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Assist with month-end closing activities related to all departments.

Payment Posting

• Accurately post customer, warranty, and fleet account payments to the accounting system.
• Process credit card, cash, and check payments.
• Maintain documentation supporting all payment transactions.

Fleet Account Administration

• Maintain accurate fleet customer account records and billing information.
• Monitor fleet receivables and ensure timely application of payments.
• Reconcile fleet account statements and resolve customer inquiries.
• Coordinate with fleet customers, service advisors, and management regarding account issues and payment status.

Accounts Receivable Support

• Monitor aging reports and assist with collection efforts as needed.
• Review account balances for accuracy and follow up on outstanding invoices.

General Accounting Duties

• Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
• Assist with audits and provide requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting procedures.
• Support other accounting and administrative functions as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit for extended periods while performing computer-based work.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 20 pounds.
• Ability to meet established deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
