Job Opportunity – Cardiovascular Stepdown Registered Nurse – Virginia

Start Date: November 9, 2026

Location: Northern Virginia

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, night shift, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• 13-week assignment in a dedicated Cardiovascular Stepdown/Telemetry unit
• Care for post-cardiac surgery patients transitioning from ICU, managing complex cardiac conditions
• Epic EMR system (training provided based on experience level: accelerated class for 6+ months recent Epic experience, or 2-day class)
• 4:1 patient ratio with strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• 24-hour orientation with comprehensive onboarding to ensure clinical readiness
• 21-bed unit specializing in telemetry monitoring, chest tube management, and dysrhythmia care

Requirements:

• Active Virginia RN license or Compact license in hand at time of submission (pending licenses will not be accepted)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in cardiac stepdown or telemetry settings
• Demonstrated expertise managing chest tubes and dysrhythmias
• Experience with cardiac surgery patients, telemetry monitoring, and cardiovascular stepdown care
• Proficiency with cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, central line management, and post-cardiac surgery care
• Epic charting experience preferred; statement of Epic experience required for class placement
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 - March 31); COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
