The Downtown Family YMCA opened its doors in 1964 and has since been a landmark in the Downtown Boise area. The facility has a full court basketball gym, a large cardio fitness center, multiple strength training systems and rooms, racquetball courts, a climbing wall, five fitness studios, three swimming pools, and multiple youth programming areas.

The Dance Youth Instructor is responsible for creating a friendly, helpful, positive atmosphere for members participating in group classes through supervision and by developing and managing high-quality youth programs.

Schedule:

This is a part time position averaging 6-8 hours weekly based on class schedule. Schedule requirements are Tuesday 9:30am-11:00am, Wednesday 10:00am-11:30am and after school and weekends as well. Pay: $18.06 - $27.09 per class rate. Pay based on experience, class length and age group.

Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver dance lessons in various styles, including contemporary, hip-hop, ballet, acro, for students of different ages and skill levels.
• Create a positive and exciting classroom environment that encourages student participation and growth.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organized studio space.
• Stay current with dance trends and techniques to continually enhance your teaching skills.
• Prepare students for recitals/finale performance.
• Communicate effectively with the Youth Director.
• Follow safety, CAP, and code procedures.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Dance/Tumbling/Gymnastic Teacher or relevant role, 3 years minimum.
• Excellent teaching and communication skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate students.
• Patient, positive, and enthusiastic attitude.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
