You will report to the Plasma Center Manager and will perform as a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) to support plasma center operations. About the Role You will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. The Medical Support Specialist works under the guidance of the Center Manager (or Assistant Manager as applicable) and is supervised by the Center Physician for medical issues. The Specialist must be familiar with plasma collection regulations or a manufacturing environment, and follows guidance from BioLife Medical Affairs and provides center‑level support of environmental, health and safety (EHS). Key Responsibilities Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, acceptance requirements, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE). Evaluate donor reactions and follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including activation of Center Physician standing orders and donation transport to emergency care facilities. Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable donor findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility. Support Hepatitis B and Seasonal Flu vaccination programs for employees. Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health/ER, referring to EHS guidance. Act as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations related to pandemic threats within the local community. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate degree from a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements. Currently licensed or certified in the state where responsibilities will be assigned: LPN or LVN. Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification. Fulfillment of state requirements for basic IV therapy. Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for BioLife Medical Support Specialist. Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting. Benefits U.S. hourly wage range: $24.32 – $33.44. Actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications and location.
