Job Description\n American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Dayton, Ohio.Job Description & Requirements\n \n Specialty: Telemetry\n Discipline: RN\n Start Date: 09/28/2026\n Duration: 13 weeks\n 48 hours per week\n Shift: 12 hours, nights\n Employment Type: Travel\n \n Assignment Overview\n \n Shift: Nights, 4x12hrs\n Hours: 48 hrs/wk\n Start Date: Sep 28, 2026\n Length: 13 weeks\n Openings: 2\n Description\n American Traveler is hiring a Step Down RN for a night-shift position requiring SD/PCU ratio experience, ventilator management skills, and Epic proficiency.Details\n \n Step Down unit within a hospital setting\n Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)\n 13 or 18-week contract options available\n Targeted patient ratios of 1:4, with potential to flex up to 1:5-6\n Patient population includes COPD, CHF, Pneumonia, Flu, Sepsis, DKA, and Post-COVID cases\n Cares for trach, vent, BiPAP, and high-oxygen requirement patients with Respiratory Therapist support\n Manages insulin drips, heparin, Cardizem, and other sporadic drips\n No orally intubated patients on unit\n Unit is trialing a team nursing model pairing two nurses with a PCT to share patient care duties\n Epic EMR experience required\n Must be available every other weekend and every other holiday\n First to float at facility discretion, potentially to main, south, or north campus locations or to the ED for boarders\n Requirements\n \n Active RN license (Ohio or Compact) required\n BLS and ACLS certifications required\n Minimum 1.5 years of relevant nursing experience required\n SD or PCU experience with documented 1:5 ratio required in work history; ICU experience does not qualify\n Ventilator experience required\n Epic charting experience required\n Must be able to read and interpret EKG/dysrhythmia strips\n Level 1 or 2 trauma experience preferred\n Previous charge experience preferred\n Teaching hospital experience preferred\n Travel experience preferred but not required\n No history of license disciplinary action\n Additional Information\n \n Provide tele, drip, and ventilator management nursing care within a team or primary nursing model depending on trial status\n Complete an online EKG/telemetry competency assessment prior to starting the assignment\n Fitted for N95 respirator prior to working on the HRRU unit unless PAPR is provided\n Navy blue scrubs required\n Lab work and EKG/dysrhythmia exam must be completed within 72 hours of signing\n Local candidates within 50 miles are not accepted\n Previous PERM/PRN staff or agency travelers not extended due to tenure must wait 6 months before reapplying, pending facility rehire approval\n RTO requests must be submitted with initial application; no additional RTO will be granted after an offer is made\n Maximum of 14 days RTO allowed per contract\n References are not required for consideration\n First-time travelers will be considered, though experienced travelers are preferred\n \n \n American Traveler Job ID #P-752000.
