CNC Programmer/Operator

CNC OperatorWe are seeking a skilled and experienced CNC Operator to join our dynamic team in Rockford. The ideal candidate will be adept at setting up and operating a Holzer 5-axis CNC machine, ensuring the production of high-quality custom woodworking pieces. This role requires a keen eye for detail, proactive communication, and a strong problem-solving ability.Key Responsibilities:Efficiently set up and operate the Holzer 5-axis CNC machine for custom woodworking projects from inception to completion.Accurately interpret job tickets, CAD/CAM outputs (such as Alphacam), and fixture requirements to execute precise runs.Program and modify machine instructions either at the machine or through CAM software to achieve accurate part geometry and alignment.Perform inspections on completed parts to ensure they meet stringent precision and quality standards; document any defects and conduct necessary rework.Maintain open communication with programmers and supervisors regarding job progress, issues, and changes in priorities.Adapt to urgent shop priorities or rush orders calmly, while maintaining a focus on quality output.Essential Requirements:Hands-on experience operating CNC machinery for woodworking, with a preference for 5-axis experience and familiarity with Holz-Her machines.Proven ability to conduct independent custom jobs with minimal oversight.Exceptional attention to detail and a history of meeting precision and quality benchmarks.Experience working with CAD/CAM outputs and translating them into effective machine operations, preferably with Alphacam.Ability to solve problems calmly and efficiently, especially under changing priorities or emergencies.Background in woodworking or cabinetry manufacturing.Preferred Qualifications:Experience in directly programming within Alphacam or similar CAM systems.Basic mechanical maintenance skills, including routine cleaning and minor machine adjustments.Experience in training or mentoring other staff in machine operation and best practices.Compensation & Benefits:We offer a competitive benefits package including 401K contributions, paid time off, 8 paid holidays, and medical and dental insurance.
