Temporary Aide Position

This posting represents a temporary aide position that may not exceed nine months from the hire date. This announcement will remain open until 5:00 PM on Monday, September 21, 2026. This position will have hybrid workplace options available but will still be required to report to the listed address at the discretion of the supervisor and based on business need.

Description of Job

The salary range for this posting is: HOURLY $25.93 - $34.38 BIWEEKLY $2,074.62 - $2,750.77 MONTHLY $4,495.00 - $5,960.00. The Pre-Hearing Unit provides a forum for pre-hearing conferences, settlement conferences, arbitrations, and settlement advisement hearings before a pre-hearing Administrative Law Judge (PALJ). The work unit fulfills the Division's statutory mandate to provide these services pursuant to 8-43-205, 206, 206.5 and 207.5 C.R.S.

The work unit also provides a forum for PALJs to review and decide procedural motions filed with the Division pursuant to the Workers' Compensation Rules of Procedure (WCRP).

This position is responsible for assisting with managing the electronic docket and case management system, the processing of priority motions and the scheduling of prehearing and settlement conferences; arbitration hearings; and settlement advisement hearings. In addition this position applies WCRPs and unit policy guidelines to provide unit customers with information concerning procedures. This position must interact with the public, the Office of Administrative Courts (OAC) and other staff to ensure the goals of the unit, division and department are met.

This position will be expected to: Schedule Hearings, Conferences, and Maintain and Prepare Dockets: Schedules pre-hearings and settlement conferences; schedules pro se advisement hearings; schedules arbitration hearings. Scheduling involves receiving incoming requests by telephone or email, reviewing the request to ensure clarity of hearing issues; reviewing judge calendars, and scheduling. Processes daily docket; assures all information for each conference is available to Administrative Law Judges. Customer Service: Provides internal and external customer service. Responds to phone calls and emails from internal and external customers regarding general information about the workers' compensation system; and prehearing unit policies and procedures. Process Motions and Orders/Designee Clerk: Process incoming written motions and outgoing orders. Screens motions to ensure parties listed are accurate, attorneys have entered appearances and that the certificate of service is correctly completed. Reviews the content of incoming motions to determine if legal issues are properly before the prehearing unit or if the motion should be distributed to another work unit or external agency. Minimum Qualifications:

Experience Only: Four (4) years of relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned to this position

Or

Education and Experience: A combination of related education and/or relevant experience in an occupation related to the work assigned equal to four (4) years

Preferred Qualifications:

• Legal support experience
• Government sector experience
• Court administration experience
• Professional Customer Service experience
