HR & Payroll Manager TEEG | North Grosvenordale, CT Full-Time | $55,000–$60,000 annually About TEEG TEEG is a dedicated human services nonprofit committed to supporting individuals, families, and communities. We are seeking an experienced and dependable HR & Payroll Manager to join our small, collaborative administrative team and play an important role in supporting our employees and the organization’s day-to-day operations. About the Position The HR & Payroll Manager is responsible for independently managing the organization’s day-to-day human resources and payroll functions. This is a hands‑on position that combines HR administration, payroll, benefits, employee support, compliance, and recruiting coordination. The ideal candidate is organized, detail‑oriented, approachable, and comfortable working independently while being part of a close‑knit team. Key Responsibilities Manage and process bi‑weekly payroll accurately and on time, including new hires, terminations, deductions, and adjustments. Maintain confidential employee personnel files and HRIS records. Administer employee benefits, including enrollment, qualifying life events, and employee questions. Manage employee onboarding and offboarding processes. Administer PTO, leaves of absence, and time‑and‑attendance records. Support recruiting activities, including job postings, interview coordination, and offer letters. Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies and procedures. Support compliance with applicable federal and state employment and payroll requirements. Manage workers’ compensation reporting and unemployment claims. Serve as a resource to employees regarding payroll, benefits, and HR policies. Maintain accurate documentation for employee time and payroll costs associated with state and grant‑funded programs. Participate in general agency operations and team initiatives as needed. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in HR administration, payroll, or a combination of the two. Working knowledge of payroll processing and basic employment law. Experience with BambooHR or a similar HR/payroll system preferred. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential information. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, particularly Excel/Sheets. Nonprofit experience and PHR/SHRM‑CP certification are a plus.
