As a Machinist you are responsible for setting up and operating a vertical CNC machine center. Roles and responsibilities include:

• Write programs at the controller for a variety of parts using Mazatrol and FANUC controllers
• Read & interprets engineering drawings
• Align and secure material on the machine, position pieces to be machined into jigs, holding fixtures, guides and steps using measuring instruments and hand tools
• Knowledge of proper application of selected tooling, ability to specify and manage proper tooling for the part/job, and detect worn tooling, then adjust to ensure tolerances are met
• Unloading inbound trucks using forklifts and overhead cranes
• Locating material and verifying grade, size and quantity, by visually inspecting and physically measuring material
• Inspects all completed work for conformance to required material specifications

Requirements include:

• Successfully pass a skills-based assessment - evaluates your reading, math, inspections & measurement, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills
• 1-3 years of work experience operating CNC vertical machining centers
• Working knowledge of FANUC & Mazatrol controllers
• Working knowledge of G and M codes as related to vertical machining centers
• Working knowledge of CAD software related to CNC machining
• Advanced math skills and the ability to calculate feeds and speeds required
• Knowledge of and ability to use tape measure, micrometer and caliper a must
• Physical ability to pass physical requirements exam for vision, hearing, and mobility

Successful candidates will be enrolled in a registered apprenticeship program as part of their onboarding. Wage: $25 - $27.85 hourly. A starting hourly wage higher than $25 is based on a level of experience and education that significantly exceeds the minimum requirements and is commensurate with the compensation scale.
