Respiratory Unit - Respiratory Therapist

Shift: 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• Experience with Epic is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >75 miles from facility to be submitted.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - BJC Health System.

Additional Details:

RNs only - Clinicians who obtained RN degree outside of the U.S. and do not hold MO/IL/Compact license require extended licensing and compliance timeframe.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: Airway management devices/suctioning required: Endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, nasal airway suctioning, oral airway placement, oropharyngeal suctioning, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy suctioning. Medication administration required: Albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, inhaled Flolan, inhaled steroids, lidocaine, nitric oxide (INo), Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Xopenex. Medication delivery systems: Aerosol set up mask, aerosol set up trach, metered dose inhaler. Nebulizer required: Hand held, T-piece, trach collar, ultrasonic. Oxygen therapy required: High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC). Ventilator management: BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation. ABG interpretation required.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Level I trauma experience preferred. Teaching hospital experience preferred.

Required Credentials: No medical marijuana cards accepted.

Special Requests: Local candidates are not accepted within 75 miles of the facility.

Unit Details: Adult and geriatric patient population. PB840s and PB980 are primary vents; Hamiltons are limited. Parking: • Monthly parking passes available. The garage that you will be parking in will be Clayton/Taylor Ave location. Bring your license plate number with you on your first day.

Shift & Scheduling: BJC policy: Every other weekend required. Every third weekend. RTO: No more than 7 days.

Floating Requirements: Will float within scope to meet facility needs.
