Custodian, Third Shift

Custodian PositionPerform general housekeeping duties and duties as a custodian. This position may be required to work during delays and snow closures. This position will be required to work overtime on short notice to include evenings, weekends, and special events or be called in at the discretion of the supervisor. PreferredEXPERIENCEExperience as a custodian. RequiredFamiliarity with automated cleaning equipment. PreferredABILITIES AND SKILLSDemonstrated sensitivity to diversity and multicultural issues. RequiredAbility to read, write, and interpret instructions. RequiredPossession of a valid driver's license. PreferredResponsibilitiesDispose of trash.Sweep, dust mop, and wet mop areas.Vacuum and shampoo carpeted areas.Clean fountains, ashtrays, and blackboards.Dust and/or wash areas requiring same.Clean restrooms and replenish supplies.Wash windows and door glass.Strip and refinish floors and maintain all types of floor surfaces.Sweep stairs and stairwells and wash same.Remove ice and snow from stairs, entrances, and walks.Wash walls, window ledges, woodwork, furnishings; remove graffiti.Replace light bulbs and tubes; clean light fixtures.Submit supply and repair requisitions to Supervisor.Keep housekeeping equipment clean and perform minor repairs on same.When leaving buildings, responsible for seeing that buildings are properly secured.ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIESMay direct activities of work study students.Set up areas for special events as requested.Function as an attendant at special College events.Physical Standards and Special Job FeaturesExposure to dust and harsh chemicals in performing duties.Lifting 65 lbs. maximum, without assistance, with frequent lifting and carrying of objects up to 50 lbs.May require climbing and working off of ladders, scaffolding, and powered lifts.May require travel between buildings during shift.Pay Transparency$15.98 per hour, plus shift differentialCollege StatementThis is not a complete itemization of all facets of this position.
