Software Engineer - Java - Hybrid

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Software Engineer - Java - Hybrid position with a Global Financial Institution located in Phoenix, AZ, Chandler, AZ, Irving, TX, or Charlotte, NC. This is a 12+ month contract opportunity.

This is a full-stack Java role supporting applications for mail and print operations, including scanning and printing shipping labels. The team is focused on modernization efforts, including migrating applications to the cloud, re-writing existing applications, and implementing AI. The position will involve both new development and vulnerability remediation as part of a US-based team.

Responsibilities:

• Consult on complex initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning for Software Engineering
• Review and analyze complex multi-faceted, larger scale or longer-term Software Engineering challenges
• Contribute to the resolution of complex situations requiring solid understanding of function, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
• Strategically collaborate and consult with cross-functional personnel on deliverables

Requirements:

• 6-8 years of Software Engineering experience, with core skills experience within the last 4 years
• Hands-on experience building microservices using Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and REST APIs
• Strong knowledge of designing secure, scalable, and performant applications using Java/J2EE design patterns, 12-factor app principles, and cloud-native patterns
• Experience with ORM (JPA, Hibernate) and SQL/NO-SQL databases (Oracle, MS SQL, Mongo DB)
• Experience with Junit, Mockito, and Wiremock
• Deep understanding of application performance management, memory management, and multi-threading
• Strong knowledge of foundational skills: Data Structures, Design Patterns, OOPs, SOLID principles, and secure coding practices
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies
• 2+ years of SQL experience
• 2+ years of Cloud experience (OpenShift preferred)
• Able to work on a hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office required

Desired skills:

• Experience with Google Apigee
• Experience with modernization and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Knowledge of frontend technologies like React JS or Angular
• Hands-on experience with Python or other scripting languages
• Understanding of TDD and BDD

Pay range: $59.53 - $67.53 per hour
