Pharmacy Registration & Licensing Specialist | Onsite- Pittsburgh
Pittsburgh, PA
This is a rare opportunity to own something from the ground up. As a Pharmacy Registration & Licensing Specialist, you'll be the engine behind one of Blink's most critical compliance functions ensuring that every pharmacist, pharmacy technician, and regulated support employee is properly licensed, registered, and credentialed to do the work they do. You'll build and maintain the systems that keep us compliant, partner cross-functionally across operations, product, and pharmacy leadership, and help shape what scalable licensing infrastructure looks like at Blink. This is a high-visibility, high-impact role for someone who thrives on precision, organization, and building things that last.
Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end initial licensing and registration for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and employees in regulated support roles across all Blink locations
- Support employees with preparation and submission of license applications in compliance with each State Board of Pharmacy's specific requirements
- Coordinate fingerprinting, background checks, and other state-specific onboarding requirements, including managing relationships with outside vendors (e.g., coordinating onsite fingerprinting events)
- Track state-specific protocols, such as pharmacy technician trainee-to-technician transitions, and ensure all required training milestones and documentation are completed before status changes
- Partner with the Training team to align licensing milestones with new hire onboarding timelines and training requirements
- Ensure proper documentation and posting of licenses where required by state law
- Manage the renewal lifecycle for all individual licenses and registrationstracking expiration dates and initiating renewal processes well in advance (this role facilitates the process but cannot independently complete renewals on behalf of the individual).
- Proactively monitor license standing to ensure all licenses remain active, in good standing, and free of disciplinary action
- Coordinate proactively with individuals, supervisors and Pharmacists-in-Charge (PICs) when action is required to maintain compliance
- Stay current on state-specific Board of Pharmacy licensing requirements across all jurisdictions where Blink operates and flag any regulatory changes that may impact our workforce
- Work closely with the Licensing Manager on matters that intersect individual and facility licensing
- Work with OpEx / PIC to develop and maintain a centralized licensing tracking system from the ground up starting from existing spreadsheet foundations and evolving toward a scalable solution capable of supporting a workforce that may double or triple in size
- Maintain meticulous, audit-ready records for all employee licenses, registrations, application submissions, renewals, and compliance documentation
- Design and implement tracking processes that provide leadership with real-time visibility into licensing status across all locations and roles
- Identify opportunities to improve recordkeeping processes, reduce manual effort, and increase reliability as the team scales
- Own the management of employee permissions within Blink's pharmacy software system, ensuring that only appropriately licensed and registered employees have access to regulated tasks and workflows
- Partner actively with Product & Engineering and People & Culture teams to help build and refine the access permission infrastructure currently under development this person will be a key stakeholder in getting this system across the finish line
- Serve as the operational point of contact for permission-related questions, audits, and access reviews
- Ensure access levels are updated in real time as employees' licensing status changes (new hires, renewals, expirations, role changes)
- Partner with the Director of Pharmacy Practice, Licensing Manager, and operational team leaders to ensure alignment on licensing requirements and timelines
- Support new hire onboarding by coordinating licensing and registration steps with the Training team and new hire experience
- Serve as a resource for individual employees navigating the licensing or registration process, providing clear guidance and proactive communication throughout
- Collaborate with supervisors across St. Louis, Pittsburgh, Austin, and Boise to ensure site-level compliance and timely action on licensing needs

- Strong communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with teams across operations, pharmacy, training, product, and engineering
- A builder's mindset the ability to look at a complex, large-scale problem and envision a scalable, sustainable solution
- Comfort working independently and taking ownership of projects from start to finish
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and data organization tools; experience building or improving tracking systems is a plus
- Ability to adapt to changing requirements, regulations, and workflows in a fast-moving environment
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is a plus
- No prior licensing or credentialing experience required we will train the right person
This role was created because we believe in investing in the people already on our team. We're looking for someone at Blink who has shown up every day with care, accuracy, and a commitment to doing things right and who is ready for the next step.
This isn't a role where you'll inherit a finished system. You'll build it. You'll leave a mark on how Blink manages one of its most important compliance functions for years to come. And you'll do it with the full support of pharmacy and operations leadership who are actively rooting for your success.
If your manager has seen this in you or if you see it in yourself we want to hear from you.
