Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionPosition OverviewWelcome to Martignetti Companies, the leading distributor of wine, beer, and spirits in New England.We are seeking a strategic and hands-on Director, Human Resources Operations, to lead HR operations across a growing, multi-state organization of approximately 2,000 employees. This role will oversee HR service delivery, ensure compliance across 17 states, and build scalable processes to support continued growth, including acquisitions.The Director, Human Resources Operations, will lead a team of HR Managers, Generalists, and Coordinators and serve as a key partner to business leaders. This role is critical in driving consistency, improving manager support, and enabling the HR function to operate efficiently at scale.This position follows a hybrid work schedule, with three days per week in our Taunton office and two remote workdays.Key ResponsibilitiesLead day-to-day Human Resources operations across a distributed, multi-state workforceManage and develop a team of HR Managers, Generalists, and CoordinatorsEstablish clear service delivery models and accountability within the HR teamImprove responsiveness, consistency, and quality of HR support to leadersEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including Massachusetts-specific regulationsStandardize policies, procedures, and documentation across all locationsPartner with legal and internal stakeholders to mitigate employment riskDesign and implement scalable HR processes (onboarding, performance management, employee lifecycle)Identify and drive process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual workPartner with Payroll, Benefits, and Safety to ensure seamless operationsStrengthen manager capability through coaching, tools, and clear guidanceReduce escalation volume to senior HR leadership by building strong HR team ownershipSupport organizational effectiveness and workforce planning initiativesSupport HR integration for acquisitions, including onboarding, policy alignment, and systems transitionEnsure minimal disruption to business operations during integrationCreate and sustain an inclusive environment where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered to contribute, through intentional programs, policies, and leadership partnership.RequirementsKnowledge / Skills / AbilitiesStrong experience in multi-state HR operations (required)Deep knowledge of employment law and complianceDemonstrated success building or improving HR processes in a growing organizationExperience supporting distributed or multi-site workforcesStrong leadership, coaching, and stakeholder management skillsExperience in acquisitive or high-growth environments preferredExposure to union or labor environments (not required but strongly preferred)HRIS implementation or optimization experience beneficialProficiency in related technology, including but not limited to Microsoft Office, ATS systems, and HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred)Proven ability to develop effective business relationships across all levels of the organizationAbility to influence others through consultation and coachingEducation/Experience/Training:Bachelor’s degree and 8 – 12+ years of progressive Human Resources experience with experience leading HR teamsPHR or SPHR certification preferredBeverage/Food Wholesale/Distribution Industry experience is a plusCompensation & BenefitsBase Salary: $130,000 – $145,000Bonus: Eligible to earn up to a 10% Incentive Bonus annuallyBenefits: Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plansPhysical Demands and EnvironmentWork performed requires no measurable physical exertion, may be required to lift objects weighing up to 10 poundsWork requires the employee to bend, kneel, crouch, or reach as may be necessary to accomplish tasksWork requires considerable mental concentration to effectively execute complex tasks requiring periods of focused mental and visual concentrationWorks in a standard office environmentMinimal potential for injury in the performance of dutiesMartignetti Companies prides itself on being a company where you can bring your best self to work every day.
