Overview The Lead Ultrasound Technologist directs the activities of Ultrasound Technologists on the assigned shift, modeling appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. Responsibilities Provide Practice Excellence through assessment, care, evaluation and education to patients and families in accordance with established policies and procedures. Maintain and promote compliance with all regulatory requirements, reimbursement standards, and policies and procedures related to the area of responsibility. Provide Leadership Excellence in the clinical practice area. Collaborate with technical staff in organizing daily workflow and patient care. Demonstrate a commitment to Learning Excellence through professional development and clinical expertise. Demonstrate Role Clarity through professional competence, expertise, and knowledge, and support the radiology profession through role modeling and fostering an environment of growth and learning. Promote Cultural Excellence with recognition and appreciation for cultural, ethnic and generational diversity. Perform other job functions as assigned or requested. Lead and guide Ultrasound Technologists and trainees as part of supervision. Education and Training Requirements Required: Bachelor’s Degree in Health Arts Preferred: Associate’s Degree in Ultrasound Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Ultrasound Preferred: No prior work experience Licenses and Certifications BASIC LIFE SUPPORT – American Heart Association (required) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – Breast (required) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – Abdomen (required) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – Obstetrics and Gynecology (required) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – Cardiac (preferred) – Cardiovascular Credentialing International Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer – Neurosonology (preferred) Registered Vascular Technologist – American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (preferred) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Demonstrated leadership potential. Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials such as patient records and technical manuals. Ability to communicate verbally with co‑workers, physicians and patients and their families. Prepared by education, training, or experience to work with adult, geriatric, pediatric, or neonatal patients. Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects, and maintain control of workflow. Physical Demands Includes climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. Must have good balance and coordination. Exert up to 50 lbs occasionally and up to 25 lbs frequently. Requires good visual acuity, frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact, exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous substances, quick reaction to emergencies, and handling of narcotics periodically. #J-18808-Ljbffr
