Billing Specialist II

$20.1 - $30.1 per hour

Cox Fleet is a leading provider of on‑site mobile maintenance and repair services for light, medium, and heavy‑duty trucks and trailers across the United States. Billing Specialist II As a Billing Specialist II, you will be accountable for creating invoices from repair orders and submitting them to customers for approval and/or payment with the required documentation. You will also assist technicians in creating and submitting estimates to customers for approval. Duties & Responsibilities Prepare repair orders (RO) by describing symptoms, problems and causes, and enter the RO into the service database system. Verify that technicians have selected the correct VMRS code and that billing hours align with standard repair times. Generate invoices from the created RO using customer‑specific rates and mark‑ups. Improve RO quality by identifying weak points, editing RO to eliminate disputes, and ensuring CAMFS invoices the full amount for service provided. Reach out to technicians and Mobile Technician Leaders for required information to process invoices. Create vehicle repair service estimates based on information from Mobile Technicians and customers. Communicate with customers via email, fax, or phone to retrieve purchase order approvals and/or discuss billing issues. Gather necessary paperwork and upload it into the system for records. Requirements High School Diploma/GED and 3 years of related experience, or a higher degree with up to 1 year of experience, or 5 years of related experience. Proficiency with Mitchell One or a similar estimating system. Strong written, verbal, and phone communication skills. Proficient computer skills (MS Office, email, typing, etc.) for generating repair estimates and processing invoices. Sense of urgency, action orientation, and minimal planning required. Existing knowledge of Standard Repair Times (SRT) for common services. Preferred experience in service writing. Ability to work independently and effectively within a team. Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for various units of measure. Maintains a professional yet friendly demeanor. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Clear and effective communication. High attention to detail. Ability to remain calm and polite when dealing with frustrated customers or technicians. Compensation Hourly pay rate is $20.10 – $30.10. The base rate may vary within this range based on location and candidate qualifications. Additional compensation may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) or incentive programs. Benefits Employees receive at least 6.67 hours of paid time off monthly, seven paid holidays annually, and additional leave options such as bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer, military, and parental leave.
