Small Vehicle Driver

Job Title

Qualifications:

Education: Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Able to pass Nebraska Department of Education physical.

Must possess a valid Nebraska Driver's License and have a good driving record.

Must be able to interact professionally and calmly with students and families.

Essential Job Functions:

Available as assigned by the Transportation Director.

Drives routes at regularly assigned times.

Reports to the bus barn 30 minutes before assigned depart times and performs pre-trip inspections of the vehicle.

Understands and follows all rules and regulations for bussing as set forth by the State of Nebraska and the Board of Education for the transportation of school children.

Monitors safety supplies in and on all special education vehicles.

Insurance card and registration

Ensures a safe environment for students as they ride the vehicle.

Ensures that only registered and approved students and staff ride in the vehicle.

Exercises sound judgment and maintains good public relations with parents, students, and staff.

Keeps the interior of the vehicle clean (floors swept, windows clean, etc.)
